Five Reigns 1980 - 1984

Angelo Mosca would prove to be the most successful of the Canadian Champs while holding the title. In addition to his role in Toronto and area, Mosca would have extended programs with WWF kingpin Bob Backlund and Intercontinental Champ Pedro Morales up and down the East Coast.

He would also attack wrestler/announcer Pat Patterson during a TV interview and as a monster heel type had a great feud with the former I-C champ. Sometimes accompanied by Capt Lou Albano, Mosca would not appear with the belt in WWF rings and when back in T.O would remain the lead face here

During his fourth reign Mosca would take the belt to Florida for several defenses including a couple of Title vs Title bouts with the Southern Title holders (Barry Windham & Ron Bass respectively)

When Jimmy Snuka jumped Angelo Mosca after Mosca had put his arch-rival The Great Hossein Arab to sleep in the Maple Leaf Gardens main event, a new major vendetta had begun. The first match between Mosca and Snuka was violent but inconclusive. Snuka won the match on a count-out, but Mosca retained his belt. Tonight there will be a clear-cut winner, and an obvious loser. At the end of tonight's encounter between the two, there will be an undisputed Canadian Champion

Mosca has faced many men in the past who have been almost as big as The Gang and he has come away successful and there is no reason to doubt that he will do likewise tonight. If there is one thing Mosca does not want to do it is to disappoint the fans. "I've held this title off and on for some two years," said Mosca. "I'm not about to let a big fat slob like The One Man Gang defeat me. If that red headed rooster, Humperdink, wants to stick his head in the ring then I'll give him a few licks also.
