"Sir Oliver Humperdink"
Sir Oliver made it to MLG a number of times mostly as manager of Leroy Brown and
One Man Gang but did work in a tag with Gang vs Parisi and Valiant in the summer of 1983.
The legendary manager is well remembered to Canadian fans as the manager of the
equally legendary Hollywood Blonds in Quebec in the 1970's. One of the all-time great manager/team
combos The Blonds (pre Humperdink) only made it to Toronto once -on the McKigney Varsity show that went
head to head with Tunney in Sept 1971- but also worked Ottawa (Grand Prix) shows in the early 70's,
believe Humperdink hooked up with the Blonds around 1973.
Edit , actually it was 1973, SOH himself reflects in this post from the KM Message Board in 2004
Hello to Grand Stabber, AC Ontario and all!! AC- La Belle Province was my first terrtiory with the HB's.
We used to wrestle in Sudbury, North Bay and Timmons as well as various "spot shows" throughout Ontario.
I remember taking the train from Montreal to the Ontario towns. Great way to travel and you could just sit
back and enjoy the trip! I also remember the "bleak" landscape of Sudbury! It looked like the surface of the moon!!
I really enjoyed my stay in Montreal back in 1973. I always loved Montreal.
Our pictures used to be on the wall of Ben's Delicatessen downtown. Moishe's Steak House, Schwartz's Deli and
the St. Hubert Barbeque were always great places to eat. I miss the smoked meat sandwiches!!
I was not with the HB's in 1971. We got together in 1973 in Montreal. Nice to know that you guys still remember the Blondes!
Thanks to Chris Kovachis for the autographed programs above and the pic below with SOH in 2010
There are some clips featuring the Blonds in the Quebec section on the Canadian Page
