This card was originally set for Jan 31 but a major snowstorm cancelled it and was rescheduled for Mar 7. The program pictured here (cover is on the Program Gallery page) is somewhat of a holy grail item of the era. None had turned up in the last several years, and several fans including myself who attended the card - and normally would have bought a program - never brought one home. As for the Caddy, you would have to ask Jimmy if he got to keep the car.

The card was good overall, Jimmy Valiant the eventual winner was very popular at the time and had won at least one other of these type that were being held in the Mid Atlantic areas, including Detroit and Toronto. It was a good lineup with some of the best grapplers of the era, Steamboat, Adonis, Weaver, Weaver Youngblood, Bravo, Piper, The Destroyer, Blackjack Jr, and Rotundo all entered. As a fan these cards looked good cause you may get the Steamboat vs Weaver match or Studd vs Piper but it never happened. Still a memorable night at MLG.
